All sorts of galleries claim to be alternative arts spaces, but Tim Slowinski’s Limner Gallery is the real deal. A refugee from the East Village of the 1980s and the SoHo of the 1990s, Slowinski briefly had a gallery in the Catskills and opened in Hudson two years ago. He prides himself on showing emerging artists who do not yet have represntation To find work for his current show, “Juxtapositions, which opens on Saturday April 5, with a reception from 4 - 6 PM, he put out a call for entires on the internet and got submissions from as far away as Argentina. Most of the works have a fantastical or surreal quality. “The idea of the show is to Juxtapose works done from reality with those done from the imagination,” he says. “What insight results from this juxtaposition remains to be seen.”
