China Jorrin Show at Gallery on the Green

From 2004 - 2007, Rhinebeck resident China Jorrin taught photography at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie. Later, after all the patients had been moved elsewhere in preparation for closing the Civil War era facility, Jorrin returned with the intention of photographing the architecture she had studied for years. Instead, she has done a series of intimate interiors, rooms that, though now vacant, seem anything but.
