A table at last year's Literary Harvest Dinner

Readers of all ages rejoice:  The Spencertown Academy’s 3rd annual Festival of Books continues through this weekend.  This year’s theme, “The Immigrant Experience in American Literature and History” will be explored by many of the twenty or so visiting authors, including, this Sunday, Russell Banks, Mary Gordon, and Lily Tuck.  In addition, bibliophiles can browse for bargains through 10,000 gently used books, most of which are offered for $1 - $3.  There are readings, panel discussions, music accompanying a book on jazz, art photography accompanying, well, you get the idea.  And, for the board-book set, Saturday begins with Breakfast with Clifford, The Big Red Dog, who reads children’s classics aloud, while the kids engage in book-related crafts and their parents browse.
