Arcadian Night at Racebrook Lodge

Kalika Farmer, who helped mastermind the alternative art show at Pete’s Motors in Great Barrington two summers ago, has joined forces with curator Andrea Hill to present Arcadian Night, “nuit-blanche” festival of multi-media and performance art at the barn Race Brook Lodge, the historically bohemian inn on Route 41 in Sheffield. “We’ve taken over the entire inn for the weekend—more than 60 people are coming up from the city,” she says. ‘The Berkshires has a long history of attracting and supporting artists, and we wanted to foster that connection with a new generation.”
Arcadian Night will interweave rarely-seen film and video artworks with premiere performances, as well as live music by Lord Jeff (see video below) and deejays Grayson Revoir and Joe Kay in a salon style environment. “We’ll have a bonfire and $1 beers,” says Farmer, who is hoping to bring together Berkshire locals with the bright young things from the city. “David Rothstein, who owns Race Brook and used to run the Music Inn, really wants to keep bohemia alive in the Berkshires.”
