Average White Band at Infinity Music Hall

Wild Cherry’s enduring lyrics, “Play that funky music, white boy,” could have been written about the Average White Band, who’ve been laying down some of the funkiest and most irresistible dance floor rhythms since the 1970s. The band’s lineup has become a good bit more diverse since its seemingly incongruous genesis in Scotland, but audiences don’t care. Those who love AWB’s signature groove and funk, as exemplified by its instrumental jam Pick up the Pieces and the exuberant Cut the Cake, are colorblind; each song has a great beat, and the urge to dance will be so strong you wouldn’t be able to keep yourself in your seat if you tried.
