The NYC-based contemporary ballet Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance strives to excite audiences with work that creates a dialog between classical ballet and post-modern contemporary dance. The company presents choreography by its founder, Cherylyn Lavagnino—chair of the Dance Department of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts— of whose work the Village Voice has written, “Lavagnino twists the clichés of pointe work, bringing the genre gasping and flailing into the 21st century.”
