Cynthia Hopkins at MASS MoCA

Quirky, cherubic singer/musician/composer/perfomer Cynthia Hopkins returns to MASS MoCA with her latest work, The Truth: A Tragedy, which she conceived as an homage to her dying father. Hopkins’ work has often dealt with issues of family and memory, and this piece, developed while her former-school-teacher dad faced his own decline in a nursing home, hits especially close—a bravura piece of pathos and poignant humor.
