Edward Auer at Williams

Visiting artist Edward Auer, a renowned performer and member of the piano faculty at Indiana University, puts his 9-foot Bösendorfer grand piano through its paces in a free recital featuring Chopin Preludes Op. 28. These 24 brief preludes—none more than 90 measures, and one just 12 measures long—are all in different keys. Auer, who has long been viewed as the leading interpreter of Chopin, is two years into an ambitious project to record all of the composer’s works. The program also includes Schubert’s Sonata in A major (D. 959).
