Joy Kills Sorrow at Club Helsinki

For a twangy, jangly good time, check out the young, Boston-based, acoustic string band Joy Kills Sorrow, which blends bluegrass, folk, pop, and jazz with a Canadian/Celtic accent. The band’s five members are all highly accomplished on their chosen instruments, which include guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, and the sparklling voice of Emma Beaton, the 2008 Canadian Folk Music Awards’ Young Performer of the Year.
