Comparisons to the cloyingly sweet teenage heartthrobs The Jonas Brothers are way off base; The Abrams Brothers have serious musical roots, reaching back to their great-grandparents, in the folk/Americana/bluegrass tradition, which they acknowledged in their 2008 recording, Blue on Brown, a tribute album featuring reworked covers of songs by Bob Dylan and Arlo Gurthrie; the latter reportedly noted upon hearing the album, “these guys are way too young to be that good.” But don’t be fooled into thinking that these Canadian whippersnappers are steeped in the past; check out their bluegrass take on the Coldplay hit, Viva La Vida.
