The Sweetback Sisters at Taylor’s Restaurant

Just because they’re based in Brooklyn doesn’t mean the Sweetback Sisters can’t honky tonk it up with the best of ‘em. This swinging band, with tongues firmly in cheek, looks lovingly back to a simpler time, fashioning itself after the effervescent Davis Sisters; vocalists Zara Bode and Emily Miller deliver their high-octane country songs in matching dresses and sweet sisterly harmony. Joining them for this MCLA Presents! performance is Lux Deluxe, a pop-rock indie band from Northampton, Massachusetts.
