The Tubes at Infinity Music Hall

Sunday, October 24 @ 8 p.m.

Mix pretty, otherworldly David Bowie circa Ziggy Stardust with ragged, earthy Iggy Pop and you’ll get something like The Tubes circa 1975, whose raucous, sardonic hit, White Punks on Dope, was famously remade into an even more raucous and sardonic Teutonic single, TV-Glotzer, by Nina Hagen. But don’t dismiss The Tubes as one-hit wonders; they’re also responsible for other classic tunes with a heavy dose of social commentary that may take you back to the days when disco collided with punk and new wave, such as What Do You Want From Life, Don’t Touch Me There, and Talk to Ya Later. They were known for their highly theatrical live shows, full of references to pop culture, which featured outrageous costumes and elaborate choreography. We imagine this show will be a bit less over the top, but just as entertaining for fans.
