Todd Reynolds at MASS MoCA

Saturday, November 6 @ 8 p.m.

Aficionados of MASS MoCA’s annual Bang on a Can residency may know electronic music wizard Todd Reynolds for his violin pyrotechnics during Banglewood. This boundary-defying, locally based composer, conductor, arranger, and performer is much more than that; he’s also a member of Steve Reich and Musicians, a founder of the amp’ed up string quartet Ethel, and an early member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project who regularly crosses genres with his commitment to technology-driven musical innovation, structured improvisation, and ground-breaking collaborations with other artists across disciplines. For this performance, Still Life with Microphone V. 10.5, his collaborators include robots, lemurs, and books—wait, make that the League of Experimental Musical Urban Robots (LEMUR) and films by Bill Morrison and Nick Zammuto of The Books, the other local electronic music wizards—plus video artist Luke DuBois.
