Dan’s Diary: Shandell’s New Home in Millerton
Last spring, we posted “Our Lady of the Lamps,” a story about the wonders of Shandell’s, the jampacked shop where Susan Schneider turns an astonishing assortment of antiques into lamps and then hand-makes custom shades to your specifications. After five years on Main Street, Schneider outgrew her old space, and she has moved into a bright new home just around the corner on Route 22. In the old shop, Susan’s workshop was hidden in the back and off limits. Now, it’s on full view and everyone can see the method to her madness.
