Celebrate Earth Day at the Hudson Valley Green Fair

Barely two weeks after April 15, the federal government’s big celebration, comes another, Earth Day, whose idealistic founders, while certainly prescient in their way, could not have dreamed way back in 1970 that eventually there would be a powerful link between Pan and Mammon—doing right by nature thus doing well.
Quite apart from the micro-savings from such efficiencies as using the right light bulbs and unplugging appliances when not in use, there are some macro ones to consider. The Obama administration is committed to making the U.S. a leader in reversing climate change. Among many other initiatives, it has pledged to winterize one million houses annually. To be one of that one million, and to take full advantage of all the other incentives that will soon accompany specific energy efficiencies, it’s essential to know how to get from here to there. This weekend, the second annual Hudson Valley Green Fair at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck will be packed with knowledgeable experts ready to ease the way.
