Lectures: Scott Ritter in Hudson and Great Barrington
Anyone who listens to WAMC knows that one of Dr. Alan Chartock’s great heroes is Scott Ritter, the former marine and United Nations weapons inspector who was one of the first and loudest voices to proclaim that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He will be speaking at Time & Space Limited in Hudson on October 21 and at Hevreh, a synagogue in Great Barrington, on October 22,where he will discuss his most recent book Waging Peace: The Art of War for the Antiwar Movement and the stakes in the Middle East for both the U.S. and Israel. “Despite our ongoing disaster in Iraq,” he says, “America is propelled down a course of action that leads us toward conflict with Iran. America is programmed for war, and unless the antiwar movement dramatically changes the manner in which it conducts its struggle, America will become a nation of war, for war, and defined by war, and as such—a nation that will ultimately be consumed by war.”
