The Vivacious Vegan is so happy to have discovered that Mexican Radio is an incredible destination for us herbivores. Just about anything on the extensive menu can be made free of animal products; they’ve got vegan cheeses and crema, and if you don’t like meat and dairy analogs there are loads of veggie fillings for tacos, burritos and the like.
I think they should rethink charging for chips & salsa.
If you are stopping by for drinks its just a nice gesture. They seem very cheap to hold back on what is fairly standard for most Mexican restaurants.
FREE THE CHIPS!
I agree Clyde. I come from Texas where Mexican food reins. No restauranteur would charge you for chips there. It’s a crime.

Don’t let the hardscrabble border-town name and matching décor fool you. This northern outpost of an acclaimed NYC dining spot is not low end. Everything at Mexican Radio is freshly chopped and squeezed, and the value is good (entrees, a cut well above the norm, are mostly under $20), as long as you lay off the $7-$11 Margaritas. But who does?
