Launched in 2008, Rural Intelligence, at last count, drew more than 120,000 visits to the site each month. Nearly 6,000 subscribers receive the highly anticipated Thursday update e-mail newsletters, and over 4,000 subscribers receive the Tuesday calendar listings newsletter, “RI Recommends.” Facebook “likes” number around 5,300 and grow every day. We post on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest consistently.

Rural Intelligence readers want to know what’s going on beyond their own county borders. We’re proud of the bridge between communities and the word on the region’s cyber street. Our web site is a must read for the very audience advertisers seek — the most inquisitive, tuned in and active people in our communities, in search of culturally rich ruralism. Every link that takes the consumer straight to your website, gives advertisers a strategic opportunity to connect with a well educated consumer audience who appreciates high standards and enjoys fine service and craft.

Rural Intelligence offers THREE TYPES OF ADS: Banner ads run across of the top of each page. These spaces are shared by up to three advertisers, with ads cycling every five seconds.

Sidebar ads run down the right-hand column of each page. All of these ads are visible all the time, but their position changes each time the page is refreshed, with the top ad moving to the bottom and all others moving up a notch. There are three sidebar ad sizes to choose from.

Banner ads are also available on our two weekly e-newsletters.

There are 10 SECTIONS; an ad is repeated on each page within its section (the number of pages is in parentheses): Home (1), Food (5), Arts (5), Style (4), Health & Wellness (1), Parties & Openings (1), Road Trips (2), Real Estate (1), Community (2), Kids (1), Remaining Pages (5).

Monthly stats, as of June 30, 2014: 120,000 unique visitors, and more than 360,000 page views.

Email Newsletter Advertising: A Weekly Conversation With Your Customers

Your message can be delivered directly to our readers’ email inboxes via our two different e-newsletters:
  • RI Recommends is sent to subscribers on Tuesdays, and features our top picks of weekend activities in the area. There is one banner ad space at $225/week. This provides excellent exposure and visibility to advertisers who want to promote upcoming special events, performances, sales, dining offers, etc.
  • The Thursday newsletter is sent to subscribers on Thursdays, and informs them of the updated stories on the website. There is one banner ad space, and this prime ad position is offered in combination with the footer ad on the website’s home page, located just below the well-read “Instant Intelligence” listings. This combo offer is $2,250 per quarter, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Discounts are offered for advertisers who make extended commitments and pay, at least, quarterly: 3 months 5%; 4-6 months 10%; 7-9 months 15%; 10-12 months 20%.

More than one ad qualifies for a multi-ad discount, which gives an additional 10% off the lower-priced ad.

Rural Intelligence bills advertisers and receives payment for ads through PayPal.

Invoices may be paid by check mailed to Rural Intelligence at the address on the invoice or, if the advertiser prefers, by credit card via PayPal. Payment must be received prior to ad posting.

All ads are subject to approval by Rural Intelligence LLC, which reserves the right to refuse any advertisement. At this time we are unable to accept rich media (Flash) ads.

Deadlines: Advertisers can start at any time with a one-month minimum. Ads and the advertiser’s URL must be emailed to our advertising department at least three days before the scheduled start date.
