Are you interested in starting your own backyard beehive? Do you want to enjoy fresh, natural honey? Ever wonder how beeswax candles are made? Or are you simply fascinated by watching bees at work? See what the “buzz” is all about at Hancock Shaker Village, where they have a demonstration hive and are offering a great opportunity for all ages to learn about beekeeping.

Come for one of four introductory level sessions and learn all about bees, including what you would need to know before setting up your own apiary. Includes a discussion of the various equipment. Learn how the bee serves as an important pollinator around the world and in your own neighborhood. Take part in hands-on honey extracting and other bee related activities.
