Berkshire Museum’s Annual Festival of Trees Celebrates Books

November 13 through January 12
Rural Intelligence Kids
The Berkshire Museum’s annual Festival of Trees is always a holiday treat that young and old anticipate. For more than 25 years, the museum has chosen a theme and invited local businesses, schools and community groups to let their imaginations and creativity flow. More than 100 participate each year, and the result is an eclectic mix of tree designs, ranging from paper ornaments hand-crafted by children to sophisticated designs with lights and movement.

This year’s theme, Storybook Forest, invites participants to decorate a tree inspired by favorite books - from Winnie the Pooh, Curious George and The Cat in the Hat to Harry Potter and anything else that tickles the fancy or sparks the imagination. The Festival is Berkshire Museum’s most-visited exhibition, attracting upwards of 20,000 during its run. Best of all, the Festival of Trees is a fundraiser for the museum’s education programs, which last year served nearly 15,000 students.
