BTF Presents Magic Tree House Reading, Author Visit

December 5 @ 2 p.m.
Rural Intelligence Kids
If you have a ‘tween who’s an avid reader, you’ve probably heard of the Magic Tree House series, a wonderful and educational fiction series based on historical events, featuring brother and sister duo Jack and Annie. Young fans can meet authors Mary Pope Osborne and Natalie Pope Boyce following a Berkshire Theatre Festival reading of a work based on one of the books.

A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens, by Jenny Laird, is based on the Magic Tree House: A Ghost Tale for Christmas Time and is directed by BTF Artist-in-Residence Travis G. Daly. The work will be read by members of the BTF Children’s Theatre Company. The plot: Jack and Annie are transported by the Magic Tree House to Victorian England where they meet Charles Dickens. Exploring the poverty and living conditions of the time, Jack and Annie inspire Mr. Dickens to pen one of his most beloved tales: A Christmas Carol.

After the show, Ms. Osborne and Ms. Boyce will be signing copies of A Ghost Tale for Christmas Time, Rags and Riches, Kids in the Time of Charles, Leprechaun in Late Winter, and Leprechauns and Irish Folklore.  Copies of all of these titles will be available for purchase.
