April 18 - 22 @ 9 - 11 a.m. and 1 - 3 p.m.
Rural Intelligence Kids
The Columbia County Historical Society has a week of fun workshops planned, to keep kids and their families busy during Spring Break. The museum is kicking off its celebration of the Civil War Sesquicentennial (150 years) by exploring crafts that were popular on the homefront during the 1860s.

The drop-in programs will be held twice daily. Each project is geared toward children ages 4-12, but younger and older siblings are always welcome. Pay per session or purchase a weekly pass online.

The schedule of activities:
April 18 Decoupage Day. Children cut and collage as they create a decoupage box.
April 19 Silhouette Day. Children learn about a popular way of making portraits in the 18th & 19th centuries.
April 20 Make Your Own Cameo Day. Children will manipulate clay to make their own cameos.
April 21 Quilt Square Day. Learn about popular quilt patterns and styles in the 19th century, and using collage techniques make your own felt quilt squares.
April 22 Featherwork Collage Day. Children will make fanciful arrangements of bird feathers into decorative pictures.
