Fall Foliage Fest in North Adams

September 25, 26
Rural Intelligence Kids
For the next two weekends, the town of North Adams has a host of activities planned to celebrate fall and the colorful foiliage. This Saturday’s events include the Annual Leaf Hunt, an event dating back to 1965. Brightly colored paper leaves will be hidden around the area in scenic locales. Contestants who find these leaves will be awarded prizes donated by Northern Berkshire merchants. The rules and clues will be published in the September 25 North Adams Transcript. Call 413.664.6180 for more information.

A Harvest Fest is also scheduled for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Western Gateway Heritage State Park. Highlights for kids include showings of classic Halloween tales like The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! plus a scavenger hunt through the North Adams Museum of History & Science. The complete schedule here.

On Sunday, a Children’s Road Race begins at 12:30 p.m. (registration opens at 11:30 a.m.) and a Children’s Fair runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. adjacent to Joe Wolfe Field in the Noel Field Athletic Complex. Entertainment, low priced refreshments, games and attractions for children to the mid-teens will be on tap.
