Ghostly Games and Delightful Decorations in Kinderhook

October 2 @ 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Rural Intelligence Kids
Children and their families are invited to a Halloween-inspired event at the historic James Vanderpoel House, sponsored by the Columbia County Historical Society (CCHS). Participants will learn about the history of Halloween and how the roots of our modern celebrations began in the early 20th century.

Early parties featured an abundance of paper decorations and costumes, and revelers were entertained with a host of games aimed at seeing the future. Attendees at this “History Saturday” event will experience those long-ago days by making several types of Halloween decorations using crepe paper and construction paper. They will also have the chance to try popular party games from the 1920s.
