Ghostly Walks Through History at Clermont

October 29 and 30 @ 6 - 9:30 p.m.
Rural Intelligence Kids
Ghosts and spirits from another century greet guests during Clermont State Historic Site’s “Legends by Candlelight Spook Tours,” a rare, after-dark event and the highlight of Clermont’s fall season. Visitors are welcomed into a 1921 Halloween party being thrown by the children of the household. When a séance goes wrong, the lights go out, and the house is filled with ghosts from the Revolutionary War era.

Meet people like Margaret Beekman Livingston, who died in the dining room. Hear the lamentable tale of Nancy Shippen Livingston. Or stumble upon Chancellor Livingston in the shadowy gardens. You never know who you will find around the next corner! After the tour, roast marshmallows, learn about historic Halloween traditions and listen to tales by Edgar Allen Poe.

The tours leave every half hour but fill up fast, so reservations are recommended.

Clermont State Historic Site
$10 adults; $4 children 12 and under. Reservations recommended: 518.537.4240
