Hudson Launches New Halloween Parade

October 30 @ 4 - 9 p.m.
Rural Intelligence Kids
The City of Hudson knows how to give a good parade, and is known far and wide for its Flag Day event. Shaina Marron, organizer of a new Halloween parade and afternoon full of related events, hopes the same will eventually be true of everyone’s favorite October holiday.

“In my dreams I envision Hudson becoming a major Halloween destination, evolving year after year. Puppets, people of all ages, ghost tours, riverboat cruises, the whole deal. This town has such a wonderful and lurid history it’s a perfect venue for Halloweenies of all ages to come to,” she said.

This year’s events start with trick-or-treating at participating businesses on Warren Street from 4-5 p.m. (the businesses will be identified by the Halloween whale logo, above). At 5:15, participants in the parade should meet at the corner of Fifth and Warren. The parade will begin at 5:30 and travel to the COARC building, where an all ages costume contest begins at 6 p.m. From 6 to 8 p.m. Operation Pumpkin, an all ages haunted house, operates at COARC for free, and includes edible treats and a pumpkin patch for the wee ones.
