October 1, 2, 3
Rural Intelligence Kids
North Adams continues its Fall Foliage Festival this weekend with a parade a day. First, The Annual Children’s Parade kicks off Friday, October 1 at 5 p.m. Children from throughout the northern Berkshires are encouraged to make costumes around the “Our Heroes” theme and enter the parade. Participants need to arrive at the corner of Main and Eagle Streets at 5 p.m. for a 5:30 p.m. start.  The parade proceeds west on Main Street to City Hall.

On Saturday, dress up your pet pooch in the “heroes” theme for the inaugural Dog Parade. Participants must arrive at the Farmer’s Market at 8:30 a.m. and the parade begins at 9 a.m. Participants (both two- and four-legged) will march east on Center Street to Holden Street, and then west on Main Street to Berkshire Bank plaza. Prizes will be awarded.

The big finale is the 55th Annual Fall Foliage Parade at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, featuring winners of the previous two parades and more. There are plenty of other events all weekend long as part of the Festival; check out their website for more details.
