Plenty for Kids to do at Autumn in Austerlitz

October 10 @ 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Rural Intelligence Kids
One of the signature events the Austerlitz Historical Society puts together is Autumn in Austerlitz, now in its 14th year. Like all AHS events, Autumn in Austerlitz offers plenty for the younger set to enjoy alongside their parents, grandparents and caregivers. This year, there will be old time arts and crafts and games made appealing to a modern audience, pumpkin and face painting, and a hay maze.

Plenty of animals will be on hand in a petting zoo and within demonstrations like sheepherding and sheep shearing. One of the highlights for children is the always the kids-only parade, which steps off at 1 p.m. The youngsters grab flags, drums, or whatever instruments are available and march around the grounds, following the leader like the Pied Piper.
