Songs of Childhood Play in Rhinecliff

November 10 @ 7 p.m.
Rural Intelligence Kids
Young artists of The Bard College Conservatory of Music’s graduate vocal arts program present The Children’s Hour: Songs of Childhood at the Morton Memorial Library. The concert is suitable for all ages, as the musical selections include an original a cappella arrangement of “Pure Imagination” from the classic 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and “Children Will Listen” from the musical Into the Woods

Other highlights of the program are Leonard Bernstein’s “I Hate Music: A Cycle of Five Kid Songs,” and selections from Liza Lehmann’s “Nonsense Songs,” a setting of poems from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Featuring Julia Bullock (soprano), Jeffrey Hill (tenor), Jeongcheol Cha (bass-baritone), and Ming Aldrich-Gan (piano), this hour-long concert benefits the children’s room at the library.
