Traditional Campfire with Lindenwald Park Rangers

October 2 @ 7 p.m.
Rural Intelligence Kids
If Saturday’s forecast holds up, it should be a perfect evening to join the park rangers at the Martin Van Buren National Historic Site for a traditional campfire experience. Young and old are welcome to come celebrate the start of autumn as the rangers share tales of humor or adventure around the fire. The hourlong program will include entertaining skits, games and jokes as well.

Of course, no campfire would be complete without marshmallow toasting. Bring your own sticks or toasting forks since breaking branches or collecting sticks in the park is not permitted, and don’t forget plenty of marshmallows. Visitors are encouraged to come early and enjoy their own picnic while watching the sun set (around 6:35 p.m.). Lawn chairs, blankets and flashlights are encouraged, too. The event will take place in the north field of the park.
