Victorian Tea Time at Spencertown Academy
December 11 @ 2 p.m.
Journey back in time to the Victorian Era when Spencertown Academy Arts Center hosts historian/actress Kandie Carle for an authentic Victorian holiday afternoon tea. Known as the “Victorian Lady,” she presents a glimpse into the past with a performance detailing the fashion, etiquette, and holiday customs of the Victorian period in a fascinating one-woman show.
Carle’s unique blend of performance and historical presentation involves dressing layer upon layer into period clothing, while sharing anecdotal insights about life in Victorian families. Following her performance, the audience will be invited to experience the grace and charm of an elegant afternoon tea served on antique silver, fine china, and starched linens.
Guests who bring a gift of children’s art supplies for the Academy’s Giving Tree will receive a $5 discount on tickets. Space is limited and reservations are encouraged.
