Wednesday Wandering Focuses on Ooms Pond

February 23 @ 10 - 11:30 a.m.
Rural Intelligence Kids
Want to sneak in a little exercise and education while the kids are home on February break? The Columbia Land Conservancy offers a fun way to do so with its Wednesday Wanderings series. This week focuses on the Ooms Public Conservation Area in Chatham and includes a walk on easy to moderate trails around Sutherland Pond to a gazebo on the hill.

The Ooms Conservation area is one of nine public areas managed by the CLC and open year-round for free, outdoor fun. This 180-acre site offers gorgeous views, winter birds, and a picturesque frozen pond, and the CLC educators will tell you more about its interesting history along the way. If snow conditions require, snowshoes will be provided to participants and they’ll give you a crash course in how to use them if you are unfamiliar with snowshoeing.
