Berkshire Grown Throws The Ultimate Nosh-a-Thon

By 6:30 p.m., the ostensible starting time, the stable-turned-party-space at the Eastover Hotel & Resort in Lenox,  was hopping.  “They start lining up at 6,” explains Barbara Zheutlin, Executive Director of Berkshire Grown, of the hundreds of ticket buyers at this year’s sold-out Berkshire Grown Harvest Supper.  The big draw: every notable chef in the Berkshires was manning a station, where (s)he whipped up small plate after small plate of the most sublime food.  Apart from the imagination and skill that went into inventing and executing each of the 30-some show-off dishes on offer, the ingredients themselves came fresh from an equal number of local farms and dairies, all of which Bershire Grown supports and promotes.

Chefs Brian Alberg of the Red Lion Inn, Peter Platt of the Old Inn on the Green, and Mezze Restaurant Group co-owner Nancy Thomas auction off a dinner for eight.
