The Berkshires’ arts scene depends on volunteers and donations of every type, which was clear at the Berkshire Theatre Festival party at The Mount on July 26 that honored Betsey McKearnan and raised funds for BTF’s education programs. She was serenaded by the cast of Candide and saluted by scores of guests, including the mother/daughter dynamic duo of Jane & Nancy Fitzpatrick (photo left), the indefatigable philanthropists who are as responsible as any two people for the Berkshires’ cultural bounty.

Berkshire Theatre Festival’s commitment to nurturing and training the next generation of theater artists was evident by the dozens of young faces at the gala, including Melanie Siegel, Arne Gjelten, Betsy Lippitt, and Molly Gray.
