Charity Calls on Cooks’ Night Off: Restaurants Rally for Construct Inc.
Many restaurants in our region are closed on Monday nights, which is why Construct, Inc., the not-for-profit that provides homeless prevention and supportive housing services for people with low to moderate incomes in the Southern Berkshires, holds its Mayfest benefit on a Monday. “I can’t believe that they can get so many people out on a weeknight—it’s great,” said Rock Hall owner Michael Somers, who came from Colebrook, CT, to Great Barrington for the benefit, which featured food from 30 local restaurants, shops and caterers, and a personal welcome from Construct president Marilyn Wightman (left.)
