Everyone Plays at Tanglewood on Parade

It’s not a day at the beach, but people come to Tanglewood as if it were. Besides packing elaborate picnics, they brings all manner of folding furniture as well as novels, crossword puzzles, cards and board games to pass the time. Tuesday night’s annual Tanglewood on Parade was a day of music that began at 2 PM and ended after 10 PM with the 1812 Overture and fireworks. In between, there were performances in the Koussevitzky Music Shed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra and the Boston Pops Orchestra, which were led variously by Hans Graf, Sir Andrew Davis, Keith Lockhart, John Williams, and André Previn.
