An Artful Night in Millerton
Everywhere you turned in Millerton on Saturday night, which hosted a town-wide “Fall for Art” party, you saw artists—from the sidewalk outside the Oakhurst Diner to the Gallery at the Moviehouse, which opened a three-month exhibition, “The Big Country,” curated by the organizers of the Wassaic Project. Carol and Bob Sadlon have worked hard to make their three-screen cinema a gathering place for the community and their efforts have paid off: Hudson Valley Magazine recently named The Moviehouse the best “Hipster Hangout” in the Hudson Valley.
Sally Wilburn of Robin Hood Radio and Millerton’s Her House with Mimi Harney of Parlour; artist Vali Valenti, Lakeville Journal writer Aileen Rosen and 3F Studio curtain-maker Christopher Baetz.
Henry Klimowicz, the Millerton artist (in red hoodie) who is creating an installation this winter for the Berkshire Museum’s Crane Room as a companion to his installation in the Wider Window Gallery, is flanked by the organizers of the Wassaic Project: Eve Biddle, Bowie Zunino & Jeff Barnett-Winsby
Furniture maker David Bowen and Verne Henshall; Melissa Davis & Andrew Gates served tea sandwiches at Little Gates & Co. Wine Merchants.
