Berkshire Theatre Festival’s 80th Birthday Party
In the summer of 1928, during its inaugural season, the Berkshire Theatre Festival (then called the Berkshire Playhouse) staged George Bernard Shaw’s Candida, which BTF has revived this summer. As part of the company’s 80th birthday celebration, there was cake, petit fours and native strawberries served under the Main Stage tent following Saturday night’s performance of Candida. The crowd included many BTF alumni, which gave the party the air of a very large and well-directed family reunion.
Jeremy James Atkinson Gill with his parents, Michel Gill and Jayne Atkinson, who are starring in Candida.
Hilary Somers Deely, who serves on BTF’s Emeritus Advisory Board, with photographer Lincoln Russell; BTF alumni Patrice Foster and T.J. Ferguson;
BTF Artist-in-residence Andrew Belcher and acting apprentice Brandy Caldwell
BTF alumni Miranda Shields and Robin Cannon; BTF resident composer/sound designer Scott Killian with BTF board president B. Carter White;
Kate Maguire, BTF Artistic director and CEO, with her son, Alexander Hill.
BTF alumnus Thom Whaley and Jaya Jacobs; Stew Nantell, BTF’s director of audience services, and Gina Hyams, BTF’s director of communications.
Actors Ricky Fromeyer, who appeared in BTF’s 2007 production of Love! Valour! Compassion!, and Finn Wittrock, who’s in this summer’s production of Candida, which runs through July 5.
