Rachel Louchen reports from West Stockbridge. Six Depot Roastery and Cafe presented a rare opportunity for guests on Friday, January 10 to enjoy a local artist's photographs of tango dancers followed by actually learning how to tango. The line was literally out the door for the opening night of photographer Sabine Vollmer von Falken's new exhibit, A Tango Diary (on display at the Six Depot Gallery until February 16). It seemed nearly the entire town showed up to nosh on hummus, sip wine and enjoy the large black-and-white photos of dancers in various moods and positions. The gallery reception segued into a live tango demonstration and class provided by Tango Pulse. It remains to be seen whether the novice dancers provided some inspiration for a future photo series for Sabine. Above, the photographer with Six Depot Owner Lisa Landry.
