Silka Glanzman reports from Stockbridge.More than 100 guests gathered in Stockbridge on Friday, November 30, for a festive preview of the Holiday Marketplace at the Berkshire Botanical Garden — a jubilant kick-off to the holiday season. The Garden’s glittering Education Center was decked with sumptuous swags and greens, gorgeous garlands, ornaments and beautiful hand-made gifts from a curated selection of regional artisans. Headlining the event, the Gallery of Wreaths featured masterfully designed decor by local creatives including Peter Thorne, (pictured at left with BBG Executive Director Molly Boxer) Campo de' Fiori’s Barbara Bockbrader, Jeannene Booher and Naomi Blumenthal. Sales from these coveted designer wreaths went to benefit Garden programming, as did proceeds from the many BBG-planted terrariums, winter bulbs, and tillandsia ornaments made for the occasion. With plenty of sipping, snacking, and shopping, the event was nothing if not merry and bright.
