CNN chief political correspondent Dana Bash comes to the Mahaiwe on May 23 for OLLI's annual Mona Sherman Memorial Lecture, interviewed by HarperCollins publisher Lisa Sharkey. Bash co-anchors "State of the Union" with Jake Tapper on Sunday mornings, anchors "Inside Politics," and has moderated several presidential debates. Her first book, "America's Deadliest Election," co-authored with David Fisher and focused on the violent 1872 Louisiana gubernatorial race, debuted on the New York Times bestseller list. She has also produced a CNN series called "Being..."—long-form conversations with people shaping American policy and culture—and "Badass Women of Washington," which profiles women who have navigated their way through the capital's power structures. Her CNN special report "Rising Hate: Antisemitism in America" examined how fringe antisemitism entered the mainstream.
Sharkey, who will conduct the interview, is senior vice president and publisher of Harper Influence at HarperCollins, a two-time Emmy winner, and a former senior producer at "Good Morning America." She has overseen more than 100 New York Times bestsellers.
The lecture is presented by OLLI, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Berkshire Community College. Public tickets, if any remain, opened May 6.
