MASS MoCA Allison Janae Hamilton’s first solo museum exhibition, Pitch, is an ensemble of old and new works, including a new installation that looks to the legacy of the turpentine industry. Now — March 17. Assembled Audience + A Cold Hole, an ambitious exhibition featuring two new installation-based commissions by Taryn Simon, examining individuals’ campaigns for public admiration, the status of physical community spaces in the digital age, and our persistent desire for a quick fix. Now — March 24. Mind of the Mound: Critical Mass, Trenton Doyle Hancock's giant Mound sculptures, whose interiors will be kaleidoscopic installations — part toy fair, part museum and part theme park — plus wall drawings, paintings and pages from his new 300-page graphic novel. Suffering From Realness, a group show featuring artists whose work examines the human condition from all sides, offering art both personal and universal, and addressing the topics of racism, violence, gender equality, the politicized body of wartime, the anxious body, the complexity of responsibility, and the future. On view beginning April 14.
