One of the most beloved traditions on the Berkshire Botanical Garden calendar, Fête des Fleurs, went on as planned on Saturday, July 3, despite the earlier rain and threat of more. After all, a garden needs rain, right? And it certainly didn’t deter supporters of the Garden from showing up in all manner of hats and fascinators. If they didn’t already have one, there was a hat and fascinator pop-up shop to make one on site. While the event is a fundraiser for the Berkshire Botanical Garden, it was also the opportunity to catch up on what had been planned, then postponed, in 2020: a tribute the great Dorthe Hviid and the enduring legacy she left at BBG as the director of horticulture for 30 years.
