Shopping on Main Street, a quaint village and sparkling wine? Sounds like the annual Kent Holiday Champagne Stroll, sponsored by the Kent Chamber of Commerce and held for its sixth year on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23 and 24. More than 25 stores kept their doors open late and provided sparkling wines and hors d’oeuvres for those who purchased event tickets (which included a champagne flute and map of participating retailers). The event coincides with Small Business Saturday, a day to celebrate the small businesses that are the backbone of local economies. Friday’s stroll attracted around 400 people, and Saturday’s was expected to bring 600, said Tim Good, president of the Chamber of Commerce and owner of The Good Gallery. The shops were packed, people were buying, and the holiday season was on its merry way.
