Over the last 25 years, what began as BILL (Berkshire Institute for Lifelong Learning) with about 30 charter individuals has become OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at Berkshire Community College with over 1,300 members. On Thursday, Sept. 12, a sold-out crowd of lifelong learners came to the Proprietor’s Lodge in Pittsfield, Mass. to celebrate OLLI’s quarter-century of programming. As one of 124 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes throughout the country, OLLI at BCC is dependent upon the generosity, determination, wisdom, creativity and hard work of the participants that make programs like University Days, Distinguished Speakers Series and many other course offerings possible. The evening was about looking back, thanking supporters and, of course, looking to future programming as the fall semester begins.
