Amy Krzanik reports from Pittsfield. The third-annual Made in the Berkshires Festival kicked off its creativity-packed weekend of events with an opening night party at The Colonial Theatre on Friday, October 11. The evening began with an art show in the lobby and found guests mingling and sipping on drinks that included Red Lion Inn's cider cocktail, concocted especially for this year's festival. The night's performances included three short films, music including two songs by the talented Heather Fisch, a short story by Kevin O'Hara, dance pieces, and more. Afterward, the crowd was treated to delicious snacks from the Berkshire's own Fire Roasted Catering, Tortured Orchard, Cookiehead Snacks, For the Love of Pie, and Heather's Natural Beverages, just to name a handful. What a wonderful way to celebrate the talent and craftsmanship that makes living in the Berkshires so special. Check out RI's article on this year's Made in the Berkshires.
