Begun in 1975, the Noble Horizons Auxiliary has this year reached its $1 million mark in its fundraising efforts to benefit Noble Horizons residents in Salisbury, Conn. The annual holiday gala on Saturday, Dec. 7 revealed that the Auxiliary volunteers know how to fundraise in the most delightful way. The gala party was the culmination of its Festival of Trees, an impressive display of decorated trees, wreaths and centerpieces created and donated by auxiliary members, local students and merchants. For two weeks, the display was open for silent auction bidding, and guests at the gala added their own bids. Winners were announced later in the evening. The Auxiliary funds activities such as day trips, entertainment and social events, arts and crafts classes (as well as renovations) for residents of Noble Horizons, which provides four levels of living: independent, intermediate care, skilled nursing care and memory care.
