Berkshire Bach launches The Organ Masters, a two-concert series that pairs a historic instrument with world-class performers, inviting listeners to experience the organ not as a monument but as a living, breathing voice shaped by space, repertoire, and touch.

The series opens on February 7 in Housatonic with "The Baroque Dance Masters," performed by acclaimed organist Renée Anne Louprette at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House. Louprette plays the Meeting House's 1893 Johnson & Sons organ in a program devoted to the dance-driven vitality of the Baroque.

The program includes the Chaconne in G minor, BWV 1179, one of two works recently attributed to a young Johann Sebastian Bach, making this performance a Berkshires premiere. Music by Buxtehude and Böhm appears alongside Bach, with an added note of French elegance from Élisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre.

A second concert in the series follows on May 2 at the First Congregational Church, offering a complementary encounter between organist and instrument in a different acoustic and architectural setting.
