Saturday, July 11, 6:30–9pm | Sherman, CT

The Sherman Artists Association is holding a major fundraiser on July 11 at White Silo Farm and Winery—an evening of music, food, wine, and live and silent auctions with a specific goal: establishing a permanent home for the visual arts in Sherman.

The SAA has been operating since 2021, growing to more than 100 artists from Connecticut and New York, and has mounted exhibitions and events across the region in borrowed and rented spaces — libraries, community centers, homes, wineries, temporary galleries. The model has worked well enough to build a real community, and now the organization wants to build something more durable. The vision is a Sherman Art Center: a dedicated space for classes, workshops, exhibitions, and programming that doesn't depend on finding a willing landlord for each new show. They're currently scoping potential properties — barns, homes, land — and the July 11 fundraiser is the opening move in that campaign.

White Silo Farm and Winery, on Route 37 in Sherman, is a working farm winery with a history of hosting arts and community events, and one of the more atmospheric evening venues in the northwest corner. The live and silent auctions will feature high-end artwork and unique experiences; the organization is still accepting donations of auction items through ShermanArtists@gmail.com.

Tickets are $130 through June 22 and $145 after. Sponsorship tiers are available for those who want to contribute at a higher level, and donations to the Sherman Art Center Fund are welcome from anyone who can't attend.

White Silo Farm and Winery, 32 Route 37 East, Sherman, CT. Tickets at shermanartists.org.
