There is an argument to be made—and I’m not afraid to say it—that our region's farms grow some of the best food in the world. The soil here is dark and rich. The farms are small but mighty. Seasonality is a virtue. What comes out of the ground here in July and August—the tomatoes, the sweet corn, the peaches, the greens—is the result of generations of farmers who know the land.

Great Barrington Farmers' Market Saturdays, 9am–1pm, May–October 18 Church Street, Great Barrington
A producer-only market where you buy direct from the hands that grew or made it. Organic vegetables, pasture-raised meats, cheese, eggs, honey, maple syrup, and bread from farms across the Berkshires and surrounding region. One of the most visited markets in the county.
Lee Farmers' Market Saturdays, 10am–2pm, May–October Town Park, 3 Park Place, Lee
Set on the Lee town green at the convergence of the main streets, this market is as much a neighborhood gathering spot as a shopping destination. Local produce, meats, cheese, baked goods, flowers, and prepared food, with live music and chef demos. Accepts SNAP/EBT, HIP, WIC, and Market Match.
Lenox Farmers' Market Fridays, 11am–3pm, May 22–September 11 St. Ann Church, 134 Main Street, Lenox
A well-curated downtown market with 19 full-season vendors plus rotating guests, offering locally grown produce, baked goods, prepared foods, maple products, craft beverages, plants, flowers, and handcrafted goods. Live local music weekly. Accepts SNAP, WIC, Senior Coupons, and Market Match.
North Adams Farmers' Market Saturdays, 9am–1pm, May–October Downtown, Main & Ashland Street, North Adams
The north county's primary market, serving a city that has seen significant cultural investment in recent years. Local produce, eggs, meat, cheese, honey, maple syrup, and baked goods. Accepts EBT/SNAP.

Pittsfield Farmers' Market Saturdays, 9am–1pm, May–October The Common, 100 First Street, Pittsfield
The first teen-run farmers market in the Berkshires, a program of the youth agriculture nonprofit Roots Rising. Beyond being a strong local market for vegetables, fruit, meat, and specialty foods, it functions as a real civic institution—training young people in farming, food systems, and small business. Accepts SNAP/EBT, HIP, WIC, and Market Match.
West Stockbridge Farmers' Market Thursdays, 3pm–6pm, May–October The Foundry Green, Harris Street, West Stockbridge
Held on the village's restored industrial green, with a mix of fresh fruit and vegetables, artisanal cheeses, eggs, organic meat, maple syrup, jams, fresh flowers, and baked goods. A quieter, more intimate alternative to the county's larger Saturday markets.
Williamstown Farmers' Market Saturdays, 9am–1pm, May–November 906 Main Street, Williamstown
A long-running North County market with a strong vendor community, offering baked goods, bread, pork, vegetables, maple syrup, cheese, and eggs. One of the few Berkshire markets that runs into November. Accepts WIC and Senior FMNP.
Mountain Girl Farmers' Market Sundays, 11am–1pm, May–October 1360 Church Street, North Adams
A Sunday market on the hillside above North Adams, with a farm-forward selection of organic vegetables, regenerative pasture-raised meats, New England seafood, cheese, honey, maple syrup, and baked goods. Accepts SNAP/EBT, HIP, WIC, and Market Match.
New Marlborough Farmers' Market Sundays, 10am–1pm, June–October Village Green, 134 Hartsville–New Marlboro Road, New Marlborough
A small, community-driven market on a classic New England village green in one of the county's quieter southern townships.
Sheffield Farmers' Market Fridays, 3pm–6pm, May–October First Congregational Church, 125 Main Street, Sheffield

Copake Hillsdale Farmers' Market Saturdays, 9am–1pm Roeliff Jansen Park, 9140 Route 22, Hillsdale
Anchored in the southern Columbia County landscape near the Connecticut border, this market draws farms from both sides. Set in a community park that makes hanging out for a while an easy proposition.

Hudson Farmers' Market Saturdays, 9am–1pm Corner of Columbia and North 6th Street, Hudson
Hudson's primary weekly market, with a strong roster of producers including vegetables, pasture-raised meats, dairy, and specialty foods. A neighborhood institution in a city that takes its local food seriously.
Hudson Thursday Market Thursdays, 4pm–7pm 7th Street Public Square Park, Hudson
A midweek complement to the Saturday market, held in Hudson's public square with a more relaxed, neighborhood-gathering feel.
Kinderhook Farmers' Market Saturdays, 8:30am–12:30pm 2724 County Road 21, Kinderhook
One of the earlier-starting markets in the region, held in the historic village of Kinderhook—birthplace of Martin Van Buren and one of Columbia County's most preserved 18th-century streetscapes.

Chatham Farmers' & Makers' Market Fridays, 4pm–7pm 248 State Route 295, Chatham
A Friday evening market that has become a weekly anchor for the Chatham community—good for a late-week shop with vegetables, eggs, baked goods, and local crafts.
Germantown Farmers' Market Saturdays, 10am–1pm Palatine Park, 50 Palatine Park Road, Germantown
A small, focused market in a riverside Columbia County town, with local farms and producers in an informal park setting.
Millerton Farmers' Market Saturdays, 10am–2pm 6 Dutchess Avenue, Millerton
A cornerstone of Millerton's weekend scene, tucked just off the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. Draws vendors from both New York and Connecticut; a reliable stop for seasonal produce and local pantry staples.
Millbrook Farmers' & Makers' Market Saturdays, 9am–1pm 3263 Franklin Avenue, Millbrook
Set in the center of one of Dutchess County's most picture-perfect villages, this market leans into the makers side as well as the farm side—expect local crafts and artisan goods alongside produce and meat.

Rhinebeck Farmers' Market Sundays, 10am–2pm 61 East Market Street, Rhinebeck
One of the Hudson Valley's most established and beloved markets, operating out of a dedicated lot in the heart of Rhinebeck village. Excellent breadth of vendors across produce, dairy, meat, flowers, and prepared foods like dumplings made by handfrom market fresh ingredients by Mei George the dumpling queen.
Hyde Park Farmers' Market Saturdays, 9am–2pm 4390 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park
Located just north of the Culinary Institute of America country, with a range of vendors reflecting the area's food culture—vegetables, meats, specialty foods, and artisan goods.
Bantam Community Farmers' Market Fridays, 3pm–6pm, May–October Alain White Field, Bantam Lake Road, Bantam
Held at the edge of Bantam Lake, this market features around 20 vendors including local farms, bakeries, and a coffee roaster, operating under a pavilion with a distinctly community-gathering atmosphere.
Cornwall Farmers' Market Saturdays, 9am–12:30pm, June–October 413 Sharon Goshen Turnpike (Rte. 128), Cornwall
A tightly knit, producer-focused market sourced almost entirely from Cornwall farms and producers, including Ridgway Farm, Mohawk Mushrooms, and Buck Mountain Herbs. A model for what a small-town market can be.
Kent Farmers' Market Fridays, 3pm–6pm, mid-May–mid-October Kent Land Trust Field, 37 South Main Street, Kent
Set on the Land Trust field south of the Kent Greenhouses, this Friday market draws a loyal crowd with vegetables, cut flowers, strawberry and black raspberry jams, baguettes, goat cheese, grass-fed beef, honey, sunflowers, and maple syrup.
Litchfield Hills Farm-Fresh Market Saturdays, 10am–1pm, mid-June–mid-October Center School Parking Lot, Woodruff Lane, Litchfield
The county's most eclectic and festive weekly market, running on Litchfield's town green with seasonal fruits and vegetables, mushrooms, eggs, pasture-fed beef, bison and lamb, breads, pies, cider doughnuts, goat cheese, honey, maple syrup, chocolates, and goat milk soaps. Live music, guest artists, children's activities, and cooking workshops happen most market days.

Salisbury Farmers' Market Sundays, 10am–2pm, June–October In front of Chaiwalla, where Routes 41 and 44 split, Salisbury
Perhaps the most scenically situated market in Litchfield County, set at the fork of two historic routes at the edge of the Salisbury village center. A compact, high-quality market with strong farm representation from the surrounding hill towns.
Torrington Farmers' Market Tuesdays, 3pm–6pm; Saturdays, 10am–1pm, June–October Downtown Staples Plaza Parking Lot, 100 South Main Street, Torrington
The county's only twice-weekly market, offering the most access points for shoppers in the Torrington area. Run by the Northwest Connecticut Farmers Markets network.
Washington Depot Farmers' Market Saturdays, 10am–2pm, June–October The Park at 1 Green Hill, Washington Depot
A high-quality, well-curated market in one of Litchfield County's most sought-after communities, drawing farms including Averill, Ox Hollow, Waldingfield, and more. Set on the beautifully maintained grounds of the Park at 1 Green Hill.
Winsted Farmers' Market Fridays, 3pm–6pm, July–September East End Park, 1 Park Place, Winsted
A summer-season market in a working-class mill city that doesn't get nearly enough attention. Held at the town's riverside park with a neighborhood-centered vendor mix.
